Python vs Aqueon water changer
Two faucet-connected water changers that drain and refill without buckets: how their faucet adapters, lengths and maker guidance differ, and what neither states.

Short answer
Both connect a long hose to your sink faucet so you can drain the tank and refill it without carrying buckets.[1][2] The deciding question is faucet fit: Python documents a brass adapter for threaded faucets, with extra adapters for some faucets, while Aqueon includes a multi-connection adapter and publishes a diagram of compatible faucets. Neither publishes a flow rate, so speed is not a basis for choosing.
Choose Python if your faucet takes its brass adapter
Python documents its faucet fit in detail: a 69HD brass adapter for female- or male-threaded faucets once the aerator is off, with MABA or FEBA adapters for some faucets.
Limitation: Not every faucet fits the included adapter, and Python publishes no flow rate. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or Python.

Aqueon includes a multi-connection faucet adapter and points buyers to a diagram of compatible faucet types; it sells 25 ft and 50 ft lengths.
Limitation: Aqueon's where-to-buy page does not link Amazon, and no flow rate is published. On Amazon, check that 'Ships from / Sold by' shows Amazon.com or Aqueon.

Python No Spill Clean and Fill. Python says its units come with a 69HD brass faucet adapter for female- or male-threaded faucets, fitted after you remove the aerator, and that some faucets need a separate MABA or FEBA adapter.[3] Unscrew your aerator and look: if the faucet is threaded inside or outside, it is a candidate.
Aqueon Water Changer. Aqueon says its changer attaches to a faucet with an included multi-connection adapter, and points buyers to a diagram of compatible faucet types.[2] Compare your faucet with that diagram before you buy.
If your faucet is neither threaded nor on Aqueon's diagram, neither system is a sure fit, and a siphon gravel vacuum and buckets may be the simpler route.
Length
Both picks here are the 25 ft versions. Aqueon sells its changer in 25 ft and 50 ft sizes.[2] Measure the route the hose will actually take from faucet to tank, around doorways and furniture, not the straight-line distance.
Using either one
The routine is the same for both: drain to the sink, then switch to refill.
- Dechlorinate the new water. Python recommends adding a water conditioner during refill,[1] and Merck says new water should be dechlorinated.[4]
- Match the temperature of the refill water to the tank before it goes in.
- How much and how often. Python recommends a 5 to 10% water change every other week for its users.[3] Merck's general schedule is a water change every two weeks, with the amount depending on stocking level.[5] Neither is a rule for every tank.

Flow rate, hose material and how long the hoses last are not compared: neither maker publishes them, and we do not test products.
Where to buy
Both picks are Amazon listings sold, when we checked, by Amazon.com. Aqueon's own where-to-buy page offers only a US store locator and does not link Amazon;[6] that is not a sign Amazon units are fake, but it does mean the seller check matters. Before you buy either, confirm that "Ships from / Sold by" shows Amazon.com or the brand.
